Our Vision

We want to enhance our local seniors and their families' quality of life by providing people with a merrier day. We all know that the future senior population and the baby boomers generation will continue to expand.
Merrie is exactly as she appears to be after first meeting her.  She is caring, loving, sensitive and honest.  When Merrie was one of the people caring for my mom in an Assisted Living facility, she was the best of the best. My mom loved her and so did I. (still do) She has the natural, inborn sense of knowing what older people need, and her kindness to my mom and all of the other residents was just a Godsend.  -  J. Haskell
Merrie resides in the Tucson, Arizona area with her husband (who has been her best friend for over 40 years!). She is surrounded in love by a son, daughter-in-law and three beautiful grandchildren, and one amazing granddog. 

Merrie's professional profile includes:
  • Nationally Certified Activities Director for the past 30+ years
  • Experience with all levels of care facilities
  • Certified in Gerontology
  • AZ fingerprint clearance card
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • History of service on several California State and local Activity Professionals Association Boards and committees (fulfilling roles such as: Membership, Resources, Treasurers, Vice Presidents and Presidents
  • Helped with many state and local professional seminars, workshops and conventions
  • Assisted with originating the ongoing annual Prime Time Games (in north San Diego county, CA) for local senior facilities

All companions at Merrie Senior Services maintain the needed continuing education credits within the industry.

A MESSAGE FROM MERRIE

Growing up I never really knew what I wanted to be, I simply always said "I want to help people". My love for people and helping them and my passion for seniors started when I was very young. My grandmother was my inspiration and original mentor. She baby-sat my siblings and myself for many years. All of my working career, I have been in the service industry. My biggest joys and favorite things in life are my family and friends and being able to help people.

My goal with Merrie Senior services is simple: I want all my clients to have a merrie day. It is my deepest desire to help create joy and opportunities for a full life for seniors and their family care givers.

Our list of services includes the typical tasks we have been asked to fulfill. The services are customizable to each family to best suit your individual needs. Just as no two families are identical, neither are the care giving needs of seniors. Give me a call anytime to chat about your particular family dynamic and needs.
